Tandav stars an ensemble cast headlined by actors like Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Sunil Grover. The show is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.

Amazon Prime Video released the trailer of their much-awaited feature, Tandav, which is set in the power corridors of the national capital.

Here are 10 unmissable moments from the trailer that promise an intense political ride to an audience waiting with bated breath:

1. Saif Ali Khan as Samar Pratap Singh - a suave Chanakya-like political leader clad in a khadi kurta and a menacingly calm expression on his face, with ambitions to conquer the murky world of politics in his heart.

2. Apart from an impressive Saif Ali Khan in the lead, the show also stars an ensemble cast headlined by actors like Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Sunil Grover.

3. In the opening scene of the trailer, Khan's character is shown to be a powerful politician ready to stake his claim for the Prime Minister's chair, aided, and possibly even betrayed in his undertakings, by a set of corrupt leaders who go to extreme lengths in the pursuit of power.

4. The trailer of Tandav also introduces a host of complex characters who strive to infuse elements trademarked by the acclaimed American political thriller, House of Cards.

5. Although it claims to be fictional, a selected few scenes within the promo of Tandav lie outside the make-believe zone and promise to reflect upon real-life incidents like the ongoing farmers' protests within the country.

6. The inclusion of a seasoned performer like Dimple Kapadia in the cast, and the maiden scene that she shares with a perplexed Samar Pratap (Saif Ali Khan), could also be indicate a sub-plot peppered with family politics and drama, juxtaposed with affairs of national importance.

7. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub's introductory scene starkly reminds you of the Jawaharlal Nehru University protests with chants of "Azaadi", which consequently boiled into a national controversy criticising the sedition law.

8. The drama in the show unfolds on every level of Indian politics. While Saif Ali Khan's ambitious Samar is seen to be operating from Lutyens' Delhi, Ayyub's sketch simultaneously unfolds in a university and promises to shed light on the culture of student politics.

9. "In the game of politics, all you have is one move," stresses Dimple Kapadia's character towards the end of the trailer, in a possible attempt to cast light on the flawed democratic structure of the world's biggest democracy which allows frequent momentum shifts between two rival parties in the blink of an eye.

10. Coming from a sabbatical that followed a hat-trick of hits in Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat, director Ali Abbas Zafar makes his digital debut in an attempt to explore the grey side of politics that is slightly less trite and less exploited on screen.

The web series, Tandav, also stars Sarah Jane Dias and Kritika Kamra in pivotal roles. It is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.
