Deputy commandant Anoop Nayak performed a high-risk surgery on Lipsy, who is nearly 12 years, and the retired explosive detection dog is now fine.

 

Retired explosive detection dog Lipsy, who elicited a tumour on ventral aspect of thoracoabdominal junction, had been suffering from pain during activities.

On Monday (January 4, 2021), deputy commandant Anoop Nayak performed a very sensitive surgery, which was an anaesthetic risk due to her advanced age, on Lipsy who is nearly 12 years.

The 45-minute surgery under expertly moderated anaesthetic dosage and depth was done successfully and the tumour has been removed.

Now, the ITBP Afghan Hero K9, who retired two years ago, is free from the tumour growth and is enjoying her retired life at the 22 Bn ITBP in New Delhi. Lipsy, an Afghanistan Hero K9 used to protect assets from Taliban terror.
