The probe agency on Wednesday also conducted searches in UP and Delhi in connection with these cases.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered two separate cases against two government employees for using forged ST (Schedule Tribe) certificate to get a government almost 35 years back.

In the first case, the federal probe agency has lodged an FIR against Ramesh Chand Meena(son-of Chiranji Lal), who obtained the job for the post of a Lower Division Clerk in Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation on July 24, 1985 using a forged ST certificate.

According to the FIR, the forged ST certificate was issued by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Hindaun, Sawai Madhopur. However, the accused was allegedly from Mathura(UP).

“It was further alleged that he was promoted to the post of Account Officer/Enforcement Officer after his joining by using benefits of the said ST certificate,” said CBI Spokesperson RC Joshi.

In the second case, the agency has registered a case against Ramesh Chand Meena(son-of Govind Ram), who joined MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nagar Limited) in 1987.

“It was alleged that the accused got job with MTNL under ST quota on the basis of alleged forged certificate purportedly issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Deeg(Rajasthan). However, he was allegedly an inhabitant of Hathras(UP),” said added RC Joshi.

According to FIR, Ramesh Chand Meena was further promoted as Junior Telecom Officer(JTO) through departmental Examination under ST Category.

Meena retired as Senior Manager (Telephone) on July 31, 2018 from MTNL, New Delhi. Meena also managed to get an allotment of a DDA Flat under the benefits of ST quota in the year 1987.

The probe agency on Wednesday also conducted searches in UP and Delhi in connection with these cases. Sources said that incriminating documents and materials were seized by the officials during searches.
