In case you were motivated and are wondering to do the asana and all about its benefits, we are here to help you out.

WHAT IS EKA PADA ASHTANGA NAMASKARA?

Eka Pada Ashtanga Namaskara, also known as the One-legged Eight-Limbed Pose, is an intermediate level yoga asana. It is an advanced variation of the knees-chest-chin pose. In this asana, the chest, chin, arms and toes support the weight of the body.

THE BENEFITS

The pose involves a lot of strength and balance. Therefore, it boosts the energy inside your body while improving core strength. It also strengthens leg, glute, back and neck muscles, tones the hips and waist, and improves spine flexibility.

HOW TO DO THE POSE?

In her gram, Malaika Arora posted the steps to do the asana at home. She shared the step-by-step procedure of the Eka Pada Ashtanga Namaskara, and here's how you have to do it:

Start by getting into a tabletop position or the Bharmanasana. Keep the knees together and your wrists under the shoulder. Now, exhale and bend your elbows and drop your chest between the palms and chin on the floor. Then, inhale.

Lift your left leg off the floor, as far as it goes. Now, bend your right knee. Place your right foot under your left knee and give support to your left leg. Hold for 10-15 seconds and repeat for the opposite side.
