A couple from Uttarakhand has urged all guests to bring a Covid-19 negative report to attend their wedding.

Acouple from Uttarakhand who will be getting married next week has urged all guests to bring a Covid-19 negative report to attend the wedding.

The 18 relatives who will attend Vijay and Vaishali's "Lagan Tika" ceremony on April 18 in Haridwar have also been asked to bring a negative RT-PCR report.

Vijay's younger brother Ajay Singh said the wedding would take place in Jaipur.

"The wedding is fixed for April 24 and we have mentioned in the invitation card that all guests have to carry a negative RT-PCR test report. We have also urged everyone to use sanitisers and masks in view of the coronavirus pandemic. This way, we can enjoy all the events and be safe as well," he said.

The government has allowed a total of 50 people at marriage functions so one member from each family can come, he said.

"Yes, we want that everyone should come and enjoy themselves but we also need to be safe amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Not just the safety of us but we have to keep in mind our guests as well," Ajay said.

Family friend Sukhbir Singh said not everyone would be able to bring a negative RT-PCR report.

"It is good that all norms are being followed like wearing masks and using sanitisers. But we feel bad because so many of our close friends and relatives won't be able to attend the ceremony," Singh added.

"The wedding was planned for the night, but now it seems that we have to get married during the day itself. We also have to see how the situation is in Jaipur as night curfew is in place. Earlier, we had thought of inviting 300-400 people. However, now it seems like there won't be more than 30-40 people," Sukhbir Singh said.
