The coronavirus situation in India remains grim. India on Saturday saw 4,01,993 fresh cases in a span of 24 hours, the highest single-day rise so far. The country also registered 3,523 fatalities, taking the death toll in the country to 2,11,853. India, a country of nearly 1.4 billion people, is the fourth to cross 200,000 deaths due to Covid-19 infection, behind the United States, Brazil and Mexico. The court has asked the Delhi government to submit particulars of all patients in hospitals, who have occupied oxygen beds from April 1 onwards.
"There is one important aspect on which we would like the government and the hospitals to respond.The problem is regarding availability of hospital beds," tells court.

The high court says, "The Delhi government has informed us that the claim made by Gandhi hospital saying they are out of oxygen is not true. We hope that such things are not repeated because it takes away valuable time from the administration. A warning is issued to Gandhi hospital."
Another hospital NKS Super Specialty hospital tells HC that they are in a dire situation
Batra hospital tells the high court that they did not receive the oxygen on time following which several lives were lost including one of the doctors. "We didn’t get oxygen on time. We ran out of oxygen at 12 pm. We got oxygen at 1:35," hospital tells court.
One oxygen tanker reached Batra hospital just a few minutes ago.
The Delhi High Court has asked the state government to submit a compliance report by Monday. "If the centre says that we can’t release these 4 tankers, provide another 4 tankers from somewhere else. It’s the centre’s problem. They have done the allocation, and they have to honour it," tells court.

Delhi government asks HC to dispose off the petitions filed by the individuals. The government assures the court that they will look into the individual requests at their own level.
Delhi government tells high court that it is augmenting the bed capacity in the city by adding 15,000 additional beds, but do not have oxygen available for the same.
