It’s been over a month since actor-comedian Raju Srivastava was admitted to a hospital following a heart attack, and as per latest reports, the 58-year-old continues to be on ventilator.

The actor’s brother, Dipoo Srivastava shared a health update, informing that the comedian’s health recovery is slow but he will be fine soon.

On August 10, Srivastava was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he underwent an angioplasty the same day.

Dipoo, also a comedian, said his elder brother is recovering slowly but continues to be unconscious. "The recovery is slow. He will be fine soon. He is stable and on a ventilator. He is still unconscious. It's been 35 days but doctors are saying they are doing their best. We need all your prayers," Dipoo told PTI.

When asked if the family was planning to shift the comedian to any other hospital in Mumbai, where Srivastava resides, Dipoo said there were no such plans. The comedian’s family wishes to carry on with the treatment at AIIMS.

"He will be treated at AIIMS and we will take him home after he has recovered. We have faith in the doctors," he added.

As the days pile on, the worry and concern for Srivastava's health increase among the comedian's fans, including veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Singh.

The actor-turned-politician took to Twitter a few days ago to empathise with Srivastava's family. Expressing his concern for the stand-up comedian, Sinha said that it was "very disappointing that he has been in hospital."

The 67-year-old also praised Srivastava by calling him stand-up comedian king, self-made man and a very fine human being. Srivastava, who has been in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, shot to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005.

"We are really concerned & worried about the ace actor, stand up comedian king, par excellence, self made man, a very fine human being #RajuSrivastava One can imagine the trauma his wife & family must be going through. It's very disappointing that he has been in hospital," Sinha tweeted.

The former actor also urged the doctors and hospital staff to issue a fresh bulletin on the comedian's health status.

"for a month now, at this young age with no positive response coming in. Appreciate, if the doctors/hospital would issue a fresh bulletin on his health status. Hope, wish & pray that he comes out of it soon. Everybody is praying for his smooth recovery," Sinha wrote in another tweet.

He has also appeared in supporting roles in Hindi films such as ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Baazigar’, the remake of 'Bombay to Goa' and 'Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya'.
