Amid the surge of patriotic sentiment following Operation Sindoor, it’s understandable that the family behind Karachi Bakery and its many franchise owners across Hyderabad may be experiencing tense moments.

Hyderabad: What’s in a name? Well, ask that to the family members of the much-loved Karachi Bakery of Hyderabad and one in Visakhapatnam, whenever there is an escalation of tension between Pakistan and India.

With the ‘josh’ of patriotism in full vigor following Operation Sindoor, it is quite natural that the family members of Karachi Bakery and the numerous franchise owners who have established branches of the beloved Karachi Bakery across Hyderabad might be facing some tense moments.

In fact, on Tuesday, some enthusiastic party workers, who were overcome by patriotic sentiments due to the Pahalgam incident, had attacked the renowned Karachi Bakery in Visakhapatnam. In another instance, way back in 2019, following the Pulwama attack, a Karachi Bakery outlet in Bengaluru faced massive protests and the shop was forced to cover the word ‘Karachi’ part from its signboard.

To set the record straight for all those activists who are looking and searching desperately for soft targets to vent their ire and display patriotism, Karachi Bakery is an all-out Indian brand that originated from Hyderabad. The iconic Karachi Bakery that excels in preparing fruit biscuits, was founded by Khanchand Ramnani in 1953 and is now run by grandsons Rajesh and Harish Ramnani.
