A Class 10 student died by suicide after allegedly consuming rat poison at a Thorrur school hostel, leading to a protest by his relatives. Police have registered a case.

Mahabubabad: A Class 10 student, Venkata Chaitanya from Marrikunta Tanda village, died by suicide, allegedly after consuming rat poison at the hostel of Abhyas Private School in Thorrur town of Mahabubabad district on Monday night.

Following the incident, the boy’s relatives staged a protest with the body outside the school gate, demanding a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to his death.Local police arrived at the hostel and dispersed the crowd. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
