The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee has announced the list of 10 young scientists who have won the 2025 Golden Globe Science and Technology Award.

They include three in information technology, digital transformation, and automation; two in medical and pharmaceutical technology; one in biotechnology; two in environmental technology; and two in new material technology.

All awardees have demonstrated exceptional achievements, holding multiple patents and practical innovations widely applied in production and daily life. They have also published high-impact studies in prestigious international journals, earned strong recognition from the scientific community, and received numerous domestic and international prizes in science and technology competitions.

Each winner will receive a “Creative Youth” badge from the HCYU, a Golden Globe trophy, a certificate of recognition, and a cash prize of 20 million VND (about 759 USD).

The 2025 selection round saw a surge in both the number and quality of nominations, with strong and balanced achievements across key categories such as patents, scientific publications, and practical applications. Notably, 22 out of 83 candidates had previously competed for the award in previous years, and 26 are Vietnamese scholars currently studying or working in countries with advanced science and technology. This underscores the award’s growing prestige and its influence in encouraging long-term scientific pursuits among young Vietnamese talents worldwide.

Since 2003, the HCYU Central Committee has joined hands with the Ministry of Science and Technology to organise the annual award, with a view to honouring young Vietnamese scientists under 35 who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in science and technology.

The award also aims to encourage the study, research, and application of science and technology, as well as nurture talent in these fields to serve the nation’s development.

The 2025 Golden Globe Science and Technology Award ceremony is scheduled for October 29 in Hanoi./.VNA
