Court filings say the guest was bitten during his stay and later faced medical and financial problems.

A Walt Disney World guest has filed a lawsuit alleging that a bed bug infestation at a resort caused lasting physical and emotional harm. According to People Magazine, the lawsuit was filed on March 31, 2026, and is for an incident that allegedly occurred on May 15, 2022, at Disney's All‑Star Sports Resort in Florida. The complainant, David Besse, is seeking damages of over $50,000 (over Rs 47 lakh), claiming that the alleged infestation led to permanent pain, suffering, and financial loss.

What The Lawsuit Alleges

According to court documents obtained by People Magazine, Besse claims that while staying at Disney's All‑Star Sports Resort, he “was bitten numerous times by cimicidae (‘bed bugs')”. The complaint accuses Walt Disney Parks and Resorts of negligence in maintaining safe and sanitary lodging conditions. The lawsuit alleges that Disney failed to properly inspect the room before Besse's stay and did not take adequate preventive measures to protect guests from exposure to bed bugs.Reportedly, Besse claims the incident caused scarring, bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, and mental anguish. The lawsuit also lists medical expenses, loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity, financial loss, and property damage among the damages allegedly suffered. The filing states that these injuries are permanent or continuing, and that Besse expects to experience their effects in the future.

Legal Filing and Court Details

The lawsuit was filed in Orange County Circuit Court in Florida and requests a jury trial. While the complaint seeks damages in excess of $50,000, it does not specify an exact figure. At this stage, the allegations remain claims made in a civil lawsuit and have not been adjudicated in court. As of writing, Disney has issued no response on the same. The copy will be updated once the information is received.
