Srinagar, June 17 (NVI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached an immovable property belonging to an accused arrested in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
The attached property belongs to Shaheen Ahmad Lone, a resident of Kanispora in Baramulla, and comprises 7.5 marlas of land recorded under Survey No. 1192 in the village, they said.
According to officials, the attachment was carried out under Section 33(1) of the UAPA in connection with NIA case RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU.
The action was taken following an order passed by the Special NIA Court in Jammu on April 30, 2026, they said.
Lone was earlier arrested by the NIA in an alleged illegal arms case and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in New Delhi, officials added.(NVI)
